When I started my dress shopping, I have never heard of Pronovias. I’ve heard of Valentino, Vera Wang, Elie Saab and Marchesa but Pronovias is a name less known in the industry. The company was founded in 1922 that specialized in lace, embroidery and high-quality silk fabrics in Spain and didn’t launch its first collection until 1964. The first collections were launched under licence, working with designers such as Hannibal Laguna, Lidia Delgado and Miguel Palacio. They were followed by names such as Emanuel Ungaro, Badgley Mischka, Lorenzo Caprile, Valentino and Elie Saab.
The price range for their dresses is around USD1,000 and up (for their atelier collection dresses are in the USD10,000 range). My dress was around USD3000 and I felt like for that price, I got a great deal for the 6 layers of lace, beading and gorgeous train.
Pronovias dresses tend to be more lace heavy because of their history is lace making and if that’s your cup of tea, you will definitely find an abundance of beautiful lace in their dresses. Their dresses are sexy but their style remain elegant and romantic, perfect for a outdoor or classy reception!
