While sorting through my make up collection, I noticed that I have unconsciously been collecting tubes and tubes of mascara! From Walgreens available Rimmel London Lash Accelerator to USD30 something dollar Chanel tubes, I have them all!
The obsession led to many dried out and expired tubes that I reluctantly threw away. It pained me to throw them away, and I realized I was wasting a lot of money since mascaras dry out after a month or so of opening them. I don’t think I have ever finished a bottle!
My recent travelling led me to discover TRAVEL SIZE mascaras! Many brands have miniature versions you can buy to test out but more importantly, you will probably be at least half way through the tube before it dries. Sephora carries a great collection of Benefit mini tubes and even a gift set of mini mascaras.
You can even find travel size tubes at the stores. I know MAC have a “to go” collection and if you are shopping at Chanel, you can ask them for a “sample”. My favourite one is the Benefit They’re Real in black. There’s a dome tip with bristles for the lower lashes and the sturdy bristles throughout the brush keeps the lashes separated, clean and long!
Next time you shop for mascara, think about getting the mini version first if it’s available. Afterall, mini is the new hot trend!
